The journey to ymmude...
We were looking for a domain to sell Scooby snacks, yes, online cannabis sales.....so we registered our first mock<k>dot site. When I was doing it, it was quite innocent; I didn't realise that there was a whole new virtual real estate. We registered Scoobydoo backwards, oodyboocs.com. It felt like cybersquatting, as if Disney could steal it from me if I became successful. Then I realised 'books' was in the name, so I got oodybooks.pl, Scooby Doo in Polish. Oh, oodyboo (oodyboo.com), so I got that too; it reminded me of DXB, where Baz and I were born. He died a couple of months earlier....ooooooodybooooooooo
I loved that it had the object-oriented double oo that so many internet companies have, like yahOO, gOOgle, facebOOk, u as oo uber; so many examples you will come across in your interweb experience.
Anyways, I started to look at Mohamed and Buddha and Jesus (susej.com) backwards as mock<k> sites.
Buddha (ahddub.com), Mohamed (demahom.com) too, so it's a thing; even Facebook backwards is being sold for $100k.
That's when I got ymmud.com, a 5-character domain, wooohoo!
It just didn't roll off the tongue like Sony.
And then Winde was born. And thanks to early ymmude, the domain ymmude.com percolated to the surface.
In the end, it rolls off the tongue like yummy.
